Gianna is a clinical trainee for Solutions. She received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2015. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in social work from Barry University in 2018. She is a licensed graduate social worker (LGSW) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota.

Prior to working at Solutions, Gianna has worked a few internships; one providing social services to community members experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and food insecurity. In her second internship, she provided residential mental health services for incarcerated teenage boys who had dual diagnosis of substance use disorders and other mental health disorders. She has extensive experience working in child welfare, foster care adoption, adolescent incarceration, and school social work.

Gianna has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Parent Management Training, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Reunification Therapy. She has extensive training in various trauma treatments, as well. Here at Solutions, Gianna’s client focus is working with adults, teens, and families facing challenges with depression, anxiety, challenging behavior, and trauma. She takes a holistic approach with clients, meaning when working individually with a client, she may include parents, families, and other systems in treatment to fully address challenges in a holistic manner. She has a passion for working with teens facing mental health or behavioral challenges, clients of all ages working through the impact of trauma, and working with mothers or caregivers in order to assist them to lead their best lives and be strengthened in caring for their children.
