Owen Myhr, MA, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (ND)
Owen Myhr is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in North Dakota and currently serves as a Rehab Therapist at Solutions. He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) in 2024. During his graduate training, Owen completed an internship at the Fargo Solutions Outpatient office, where he began honing his skills in clinical care.
Owen brings a diverse professional background to his current role, including several years of hands-on work with highly behavioral individuals. His previous employment includes working at a marina in Alexandria, Minnesota for four summers—an experience he recalls as the most fun job imaginable—and nearly four years in a lumber yard.
Owen is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and while not officially certified in a specific specialty, his expertise lies in working with children and young adolescents. He is passionate about early intervention and helping young clients build lifelong emotional and behavioral skills.
At the heart of Owen's practice are the values of selflessness, humility, and empathy. He believes in creating a judgment-free space where clients feel supported in expressing their goals and navigating change. Owen takes pride in asking questions and learning from his clients’ unique experiences, always aiming to validate their feelings with understanding and compassion.
In addition to his professional commitments, Owen and his partner are active volunteers at the Turtle Mountain Animal Shelter, often fostering dogs in need of care. He is also an Eagle Scout, a distinction that reflects his long-standing commitment to leadership and service.
Outside of work, Owen enjoys spending time outdoors—whether it’s yardwork, camping, or simply soaking up the sunshine. He is also an avid music enthusiast and enjoys deep conversations about all things musical. Living with Type 1 Diabetes since the age of five, Owen embraces the challenges it brings and sees it as an integral part of his life story.
