Megan Sundstrom, M.A., Clinical Trainee 

Megan Sundstrom is a Clinical Trainee at Solutions. She received her undergraduate training at the College of St. Benedict, and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology from University of Minnesota Duluth in 2021. She completed her graduate clinical internship at Human Development Center in Cloquet, MN. She has had supervised experience with a range of clients and disorders, primarily anxiety. She has had particular experience with adolescents and young adults. Megan has been trained in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She has She is currently working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Megan is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Social Services Association.

 While in college, Megan had experience as a coordinator in the psychology department and worked as a research and teaching assistant. She previously provided direct care at a halfway house in the Twin Cities, and has worked in customer service, as an assistant coach, and as a tutor at a local community college.

 Megan focuses on her clients’ capabilities, and enjoys providing them with tools and skill sets to succeed. She believes it is critical for her to actively listen to her clients, without judgement. Megan values honesty, integrity, and communication, and takes a person-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that addressing problems requires a broad perspective, including biological, social, and psychological factors.
