Kay Huang, Psychology Intern
Kay Huang is a doctoral psychology intern at Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals, completing her training as part of the Combined Counseling and School Psychology program at the University at Buffalo. She has provided services in both school settings and community mental health clinics, offering diagnostic and therapeutic support to individuals of all ages and families. Her work emphasizes collaboration and aims to strengthen clients’ psychological well-being, relationships, and daily functioning across school, work, and home environments.
Kay strives to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their concerns and working toward meaningful goals. Her clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy. She believes in client-empowerment and tailors each intervention to meet the unique needs of her clients.
In addition to her clinical work, Kay has received training in trauma-informed care and qualitative assessments for adults seeking autism evaluations. She is committed to providing affirming care that honors each person’s cultural, social, and individual identity.
Outside of work, Kay enjoys swimming and spending time with her labrador retriever, who also loves water activities.
