Her advocacy in this space earned her recognition as Advocate of the Year by the Metro-Area Mayor’s Committee in 2018.

Following her work in disability services, Katie served as a clinician at the Fargo VA Medical Center, providing intensive case management and evidence-based therapy for veterans with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. She is trained in multiple evidence-based practices including Social Skills Training (SST), Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).

Katie's clinical expertise includes working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, veterans, psychiatric survivors, and caregivers. While the majority of her clinical experience is with adults, she is open to working with children and adolescents as well.

She is a member of the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISP-US) and has served on the board of the Arc of Cass County. Katie is passionate about helping clients find their voice, live authentically, and navigate systemic barriers with strength and resilience.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys movies, music, time outdoors, traveling, and being with family and friends.
