Jonathan Berntson, MA, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (MN)

Jonathan Berntson received his Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Bethel University in 2014. He received internship training at Bethel’s Student Counseling Center and Career Counseling offices. Jonathan is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. He has been with Solutions since 2014, initially working as a mental health practitioner, then a Clinical Trainee prior to being licensed.

Jonathan is trained to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), and DC:0-5, which is the assessment of young children. He specializes in services for children and adolescents, using the Incredible Years model and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. He finds trauma work particularly rewarding. Jonathan strives to be present as clients move through stages of change, confronting and overcoming their fears. He values the inclusion of family in the work he does with children, and takes a person-centered approach.
