Heather Dorow Matheny, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Heather Dorow Matheny received her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Psychology and Child Life from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. She earned her Master of Science in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the University of North Dakota.
Mrs. Matheny is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in the state of Minnesota. She completed her supervision hours at the AIM clinic with Solutions in 2022 and was subsequently hired as the BCBA for the Fergus Falls clinic, providing services to clients in that community.
Before joining Solutions, Mrs. Matheny worked as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for the state of Minnesota, serving patients in an acute psychiatric setting. She has been trained in evidence-based practices such as Food Selectivity Without Tears and serves as an approved supervisor for aspiring BCBAs.
Mrs. Matheny specializes in providing services to children with autism, ADHD, and other related conditions. She particularly enjoys working with early childhood and early intervention populations and has a strong passion for collaborating with community organizations and schools to promote meaningful generalization of skills.
A member of the Minnesota Northland Association for Behavior Analysis (MNABA), Mrs. Matheny is committed to advancing community education and supporting families. She finds the most meaning in witnessing the positive impact of meaningful change for the families she serves and in providing education on how best to support individuals with autism and other learning differences.
Mrs. Matheny prioritizes ethical, assent-based, and meaningful ABA practices, with a focus on ensuring real-world application and generalization of skills.
