Alexis Anderson, MA, MS, Psychology Intern

Alexis “Lexi” Anderson is a doctoral psychology intern, completing her training as part of their doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. She obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology through Fielding Graduate University in 2024, as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice through North Dakota State University in 2022. Lexi is also currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology through the Chicago School of Professional Psychology to better be able to help clients understand the intersection of physical and mental health.

Originally from Alexandria, MN, Lexi has intentionally sought out clinical practicum experiences that have prepared her for addressing the unique mental health needs in rural communities like her own. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan and have a special interest in assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and group psychotherapy.​ Lexi strives to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their concerns and work toward their goals. She utilizes both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her clinical approach, tailoring the interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. She also recognizes just how important personal values are in guiding the goals that clients want to achieve in their time working together with her.

​In addition to their clinical work, Lexi has received training in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan, assessing for a wide variety of presenting concerns. From early childhood development, to cognitive performance assessment in aging populations, Lexi is particularly drawn to assessment cases where she can help clients and their families better understand the concerns they might have. She has also attended trainings in many other CBT-oriented therapy modalities, such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE). Lexi is committed to providing affirming care that respects each person’s cultural, social, and individual identity.​

In her free time, Lexi can often be found spending time with family and friends, as well as spoiling her two cats and dog. She enjoys learning new things, cooking, putting together Lego sets, relaxing at the lake, and going to trivia nights with friends.
