Mary Epping, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (ND), Licensed Addiction Counselor

Mary Epping is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Dakota, and a Licensed Master Addiction Counselor in North Dakota. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2006 and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota in 2010.

Mary completed four clinical internships, gaining experience across a broad range of treatment settings. Her internship work included Drake Counseling Center in 2006, and Southeast Human Service Center, Prairie St. John’s, and Center Inc. between 2009 and 2010, where she worked with diverse populations and complex clinical needs.

Before joining Solutions, Mary spent five years at Sharehouse as an intake coordinator and case manager in both addiction and mental health services. She then spent five years at Center Inc., serving as a mental health therapist and addiction counselor for individuals transitioning from prison or those on probation.

Mary is trained in several Evidence‑Based Practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Trauma‑Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF‑CBT), and Parent‑Centered Interactive Therapy (PCIT). She is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her clinical specialties include dual diagnosis, trauma‑focused therapy, and treatment of major depression and anxiety disorders.

Mary works with clients ages 5 and up, with most of her caseload ranging from ages 10 to 70. She finds deep meaning in witnessing client progress, especially the moments when individuals recognize their own healing and growth. She values the variety and continued learning that her work offers, appreciating that no two days are alike.

Mary’s therapeutic approach is rooted in integrity, honesty, dependability, dedication, and strong therapeutic rapport. She prioritizes meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs, ensuring care that is both individualized and compassion‑driven.
