Areas of Practice/Specialties
Dr. Paulson has a general psychological practice, which includes evaluations and therapy to both adults and adolescents. He provides both individuals and couples therapy. Dr. Paulson is eclectic in his approach to treating the mental health problems of his clinets. He employs cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and/or systems orientations to therapy as the unique client(s) and their problems seem to require. Although he treats a wide variety of problems, he has special interests in treating depression, anxiety disorders, marital conflict and sexual dysfunction. He is also very interested in providing psychological evaluations to adults and adolescents.
Clinical Training/Certification
Dr. Paulson received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Dakota. Since then he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at both the Rutgers Mental Health Center in New Jersey and the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. Dr. Paulson has more than 30 years of experience as a practicing psychologist. He is licensed in both North Dakota and Minnesota , is on the National Register of Health Service Providers in the Psychology, and is a member of the American Psychological Association.
